Andy Yiu

Andy Yiu is a Staff Software Engineer at IBM Technical Support Center specializing in IBM Sametime.  As an IBM employee starting in 2002, Andy has supported many of the top Fortune 500 companies and SMB units.  Many of the tasks which Andy performs involve cross-collaboration with other IBM business units such as Sales and Distribution, Services and Consulting.  Andy has a passion for the business and enjoys a variety of challenges such as resolving with Critital Situation and architecting environments in collaboration with the consulting arms of IBM.  Andy has been on-site with customers several times to work toward resolving critical issues in a timely manner as well as provide health-checks and sanity checks on existing environments. 

Currently Andy is pursuing his MBA at Penn State University through the iMBA Program with an expected graduation in December 2008.  Prior to starting the MBA program, Andy graduated with his Bachelors in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin.  While originally based in Austin, Texas with the rest of the IBM Sametime crew, Andy now works out of a remote office in Houston, Texas.

This blog was created as a learning experience to immerse myself into the new technologies which have encompassed the internet and also to publish my personal views on the world around us.  Technology continues to grow at such an astounding rate, so fast we never know what the next day will bring.
