Sametime 8.0 Client - Essential hotfix

Any company who is thinking about rolling out the Sametime 8 client needs to be aware of SPR KHKG7A3PMW.  There is a typo in the install.xml (Install manifest) file which prevents the Sametime client from receiving updates that will update the underlying platform and user workspaces in a new deployment.  You can deploy this fix before or after the client rollout using an update site.
